Leslie Carr-Avalos

is the chef/owner of Universal Cafe in San Francisco, a neighborhood institution in the Mission District. Originally from Hudson Valley farm country in Upstate NY, Chef Leslie has now lived and worked in the Bay Area for over 20 years. She brings her years of experience as a farm-to-table restauranteur and savvy from working with local farmers on both Coasts to her newest project, Sage Organic Catering.


Ruben Martinez

is an esteemed chef in his own right with over 25 years of hard-earned experience cooking for several fine Bay Area restaurants and catering companies. With an impeccable work ethic, passionate commitment and other-worldly palate, Chef Ruben is the driving force behind Sage Organic Catering.
